Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize animation systems within Unreal Engine, ensuring smooth integration with gameplay mechanics.
• Collaborate with animators, programmers, and designers to create high-quality, realistic, and expressive animations that meet artistic and gameplay standards.
• Build and maintain animation blueprints, state machines, and procedural systems in Unreal Engine.
• Work on advanced features like IK systems, animation blending, motion matching, and root motion to enhance realism and responsiveness.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize animation workflows and runtime performance.
• Provide feedback and technical guidance to animators to achieve consistent quality in animations.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Unreal Engine advancements, tools, and industry animation techniques.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with animation systems in Unreal Engine.
• Strong expertise in Unreal Engine's animation tools (Animation Blueprints, Sequencer, Control Rigs, State Machines, and Animation Montages).
• Solid understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, posing) and their implementation in a real-time environment.
• Experience with advanced animation techniques like procedural animation, ragdoll setups, and motion matching.
• Proficient in scripting with Blueprints and a basic understanding of C++ for custom animation system extensions.
• Knowledge of rigging and skinning workflows, with the ability to work with Control Rigs.
• Strong sense of storytelling through animation, with a focus on character performance and fluidity.
• Familiarity with profiling tools to optimize animation performance in Unreal Engine.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward technical challenges.

Preferences

    • Experience with mocap data processing and integration.
    • Familiarity with simulation-based animations, such as cloth, hair, and muscle dynamics.
    • Knowledge of visual scripting in tools like Houdini or Maya for animation support.
    • Experience working on AAA or indie game titles.
